Corelis Selects FlexNet Publisher for Licensing Distribution

New licensing platform provides more flexibility over software deployment.

Cerritos, CA, November 3, 2009 – Corelis, Inc., a leading supplier of high-performance boundary-scan test and measurement tools, announced today that it has chosen Flexera’s FlexNet Publisher® as its primary licensing tool for all of its software products. FlexNet Publisher represents over 20 years of research and development in addressing the licensing requirements of both users and publishers of software applications. The FlexNet Publisher licensing system translates into a greatly increased capability of Corelis to improve product licensing based on customer needs and feedback. The latest version of the tool now allows automatic license activation via the internet. Once a user has received the software installation and licensing files from Corelis, the software may be activated 24/7 without needing to interact with the Corelis support department.

“We decided on FlexNet for a large number of reasons, the largest being the extended capability of FlexNet over our existing system,” said Anita Pawlak, VP of Operations at Corelis. “The superior flexibility now allows Corelis to deliver special licenses, such as demo or temporary licenses, to our customers more quickly and easily. We also see FlexNet as a widespread industry licensing platform which aids our customers’ understanding of the licensing management and methodologies supported by Corelis.”

In addition to its existing hardware key option which requires a physical USB security device attached to the computer, Corelis will deploy two license options with the FlexNet Publisher system: Single-User Software-Based and Multi-User Networked-Based. The Single-User Software-Based license removes the requirement of a physical security device, but instead requires a software-based license activation process that will enable the licensed application(s) on a specific computer. The Multi-User Networked-Based license is often called a “floating” license where the licenses are installed on a central server and can be accessed concurrently by any number of client computers up to the number of network licenses available.

Cerritos, CA, October 2, 2009 – Corelis, Inc. announced today that EMS provider, Express Manufacturing, Inc. (EMI), has officially entered its Solution Partner Program. The Solution Partner Program was developed to form active partnerships with companies that have a high level of synergy and have sustained a long on-going business relationship with Corelis. Corelis advocates these partnerships to have active face-to-face communication which helps openly identify challenges and issues within the circuit board industry. This, in turn, provides direct input from third party sources which influences the development of more application-specific products designed to solve real world problems.

Solution Partners work closely with Corelis to pursue technical and business interests for the benefit of both companies. Opportunities such as joint seminars, trade shows, product enhancements, and referral marketing are some of the base attributes encompassed within the Solution Partner Program. Partners are invited to be a part of Corelis' software beta program to help in the development of products that match specific reliability requirements. Additional special services and training are available to partners to help advance their knowledge and experience in making the most efficient usage of Corelis tools.

“We recognize Express Manufacturing as a quality focused organization with tremendous commitment to customer satisfaction,” says Ryan Jones, Senior Technical Marketing Engineer at Corelis. “We are extremely happy to have EMI join us as a partner in developing new business opportunities. This partnership allows EMI to provide complete boundary-scan services and solutions above and beyond their existing capabilities. In addition, the partnership brings Corelis closer to a broad customer base.”

Thomas Ng, Engineering Director at Express Manufacturing states, “We’ve recognized the need for boundary-scan test services within our organization for some time, but having full-time, dedicated personnel has not always been possible. This partnership opens Corelis’ boundary-scan experience and expertise to us and provides us access to resources that were not previously available.”.
