Corelis Adds Advanced Triggering to I2C Bus Analyzers

Advanced multi-level trigger with graphical design interface helps isolate event sequences.

Cerritos, CA, November 18, 2013 – Corelis, Inc., the leading supplier of high-performance I2C bus analysis tools, has released a new version of its I2C Exerciser software, Version 1.24. The software enhances the triggering capability of Corelis’ powerfulBusPro-I and CAS-1000-I2C/E bus analyzer products. Major benefits of the new advanced trigger include:
  • Easy-to-use, graphical trigger sequence design interface.
  • Trigger on I2C protocol conditions, including transaction type, data or address value, protocol errors, and more.
  • State-based definition allows triggering on consecutive and non-consecutive events.
  • Use logical operations to combine multiple conditions for multi-level triggering.
  • Pre-defined trigger templates for common scenarios.
  • Two independent external trigger signals for integration with external equipment.
The I2C Exerciser software allows users to generate I2C traffic, non-intrusively monitor and record all I2C bus traffic, and display real-time data in both state and waveform timing windows—all concurrently using a single instrument. The advanced trigger enables users to pinpoint complex sequences, and the I2C Exerciser’s virtually limitless trace buffer means data can be continuously collected and analyzed over days, weeks, or even months until the trigger conditions are met. Additional software capabilities include master and slave emulation, a scripting language to control test sequences, and I2C signal parametric measurements.

“The advanced trigger functionality adds immense value to the already feature-rich CAS-1000-I2C/E and BusPro-I bus analyzers,” states Ryan Jones, Senior Technical Marketing Engineer at Corelis. “Logical, state-based trigger systems this advanced are usually reserved for very high-end test equipment. We are offering this capability to new and existing Corelis bus analyzer owners at no additional charge.”

The new software upgrade is available free to registered owners of the Corelis BusPro-I andCAS-1000-I2C/E products. A trial version of the software is also available to new users by registering on the Corelis website:

Corelis JTAG Tools Advance Manufacturing Test for Red Lion Controls

Complete ScanExpress JTAG/boundary-scan system reduces cost and improves production test time.

Cerritos, CA, October 21, 2013 – Corelis, Inc., the leading supplier of high-performanceboundary-scan test and measurement tools, announced the successful deployment of Corelis ScanExpress tools at Red Lion Controls for testing Human Machine Interface (HMI) products. The combination of ScanExpress boundary-scan and JTAG Embedded Test (JET)tools enabled rapid development of fast, non-intrusive structural and early functional tests for Red Lion’s complex embedded systems.

Through the implementation of Corelis’ industry-standard ScanExpress development and test solution early in the product development process, Red Lion controls leveraged the advanced diagnostic capabilities to identify a hard-to-find fault during prototype development. The same tests used for prototype verification were then carried over and extended into production. The system was automated by integrating Corelis’ application programming interface (API) into Red Lion’s existing test executive system.

“The integration of boundary-scan and JET tests into Red Lion’s existing test processes provided immediate value in Red Lion’s manufacturing processes,” explained Ryan Jones, Senior Technical Marketing Engineer at Corelis. “JET not only significantly improves in-system-programming (ISP) speed, but it also allows for system functional tests to be moved earlier in the test process without the need for functional boot code.”

Corelis Releases New CD Version 7.8 Boundary-Scan Tool Suite

New Software Release Broadens Structural and Functional Test Capabilities.

Cerritos, CA, April 22, 2013Corelis, Inc., the leading supplier of high-performance boundary-scan test and measurement tools, announced today the availability of version 7.8 of its ScanExpress Boundary-Scan Tool Suite. This new version includes numerous new features and enhancements including improved cluster testing support, intelligent BSDL file handling, and a new model-based test coverage. The new version also expands JTAG Embedded Test (JET) support to Texas Instruments AM335x Sitara™ processors.
Software improvements include:
  • A new model based test coverage which limits test vector generation to nets where all nodes have been identified with a device model.
  • Cluster definitions are now assignable by pin numbers in addition to the net name.
  • The ScanExpress TPG parsing engine will now automatically ignore leading “P” values found in pin definitions for non-BGA type BSDL files.
  • Floating network licenses are now supported under Linux.
  • JET support for Texas Instruments AM335x processors.
Current Corelis customers that have a valid maintenance contract can now access the new version 7.8 CD through the Corelis support website. To inquire about a maintenance package or to obtain a full list of improvements, please contact the Corelis sales team at (562) 926-6727; or, send an email to sales@corelis.com.
